Fun Day Out – New Clackamas Max Line

I took my 4 year old on the new Clackamas Max line train (Green Line) from Clackamas Town Center to Ikea today out by the airport. I bought a 2 zone ticket for $2.50 and he was free. We transferred at the Gateway Transfer Station to the Red Line and it dropped us off almost at the doorstep of Ikea. He was so excited to play in their indoor playland and I wandered with my mother-in-law for an hour around Ikea. I bought some little plastic bowls and cups and a new shopping bag, all for about $5. Then Ryan had a kids meal (mac n cheese, applesauce, and juice) for $2.50 and we all had a frozen yogurt for a dollar on the way out. For about ten bucks we had a fabulous day that we’ll repeat many times as the weather gets worse in the rainy NW.

ps…going on the train limits the amount of goodies you can buy at Ikea so it’s a good way to keep on budget. 🙂
