Want something cheap to do with your kid??

 

Take them HIKING. My 4 year old made it through 5 miles of a hike around the Multnomah Falls area this morning in the pouring rain with a big fat smile on his face the whole time. This amazing family time cost us ZERO. Well, gas to get there and a few granola bars. In my mind, that’s pretty much zero.

My parents were huge into hiking and camping. At the time I just thought they were instilling a love of nature and that’s what they said they were doing, however, later in life they told us we were poor so they were doing the cheapest type of entertainment they could think of. Who knew we were poor?? Certainly not us.
